About Us

The Friends of the Octavia Fields Memorial Branch Library (FOOFML) is a group of citizens committed to our library and the excellent service it provides. This service reaches into every neighborhood in our community and serves all segments of the population. As volunteers, we help raise money, act as advocates, and make sure our community understands the importance of the library.

The Friends of the Octavia Fields Memorial Branch Library help to close the gap between the library’s current funding and the funding necessary to provide library service that will meet the growing and changing needs of Humble residents. By donating to The Friends, you will help to support the information and education needs of every citizen in this area.

The Friends of Octavia Fields Memorial Library (FOOFML) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of volunteers, whose purpose shall be:

• To support and promote the Octavia Fields Memorial Library 
• To focus public attention on the Library; its services, facility and needs
• To stimulate the use of the Library's resources and services
• To receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the Library
• To hold fundraising events and cultural activities
• To function as an advocate group of the Library
